With 20+ years in the mountain based operations and guiding industry, we have created specialized training programs from real world experience in low and high angle environment. From Class I to V terrain, we have methods and best practices to make any responder, operator, rescuer, LEO or similar personnel more efficient and proficient in these environments. When operating in low angle environments (0 to 45 degrees) simple foot travel and minor roping methods can be deployed to aid in travel. When operating and performing in high angle environment (45 degrees+) specific skills should be employed to help you move through this terrain efficient, safely and, if missions specific or critical, unrecognizable. Our expert staff can guide you through best practices to aid you in operating at 100% of your potential. If you operate in the environment, you should train in the environment. Rappelling, rock climbing, ice climbing and various other travel methods are used depending upon the terrain classification.
We offer various forms of descending/rappelling low and high angle environments. Your mission based terrain or response area (AOR/AOO) will dictate what type of skillset will be required. We offer training in all methods and terrain classifications. Knowing how to deploy any method using any type of equipment, or lack of equipment, you may have will bring you to become an efficient professional.
Understanding geology and how to negotiate it using body positioning, balance and footwork takes practice. Our expert rock climbing instructors and high angle terrain negotiating experts will guide you through all of the required skills that are needed to navigate and negotiate high angle terrain.
Knowing how to set up and facilitate a rappelling operation is a key skill for high angle environments. During our rappelling courses we cover roping systems, rappel methods, equipment, on-rope navigation and much more!
Understanding basic geology will aid in your high angle rock environment ascending methods. During these training programs we cover all of the skills necessary for rock climbing like body positioning, balance, footwork, technique, belaying, equipment, safety protocols and many more terrain specific skills.
Canyon and high angle riverine environments are complex when it comes to negotiating and descending to access a down-river section or point. When swiftwater is a factor or flow gradients, specific skills are needed to negotiate safely and efficiently.
Anchors and rigging are the nuts and bolts to any high angle, rope based operation or rescue. During these training programs we cover structural geology, dendrology, rope related physics, artificial & natural anchors, vector forces and many more related topics. After this training you'll be 100% confident in anchor and rigging set up to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Understanding rope concepts and being able to expedite your set-up for mission critical options is a skill that takes a lot of practice. Our expert staff wrote the methods that operators, law enforcement and rapid rescue professionals use daily. Situationally aware of high angle environments while maintaining safety are skills taught during this program.
Rescue is a foundational skills in the event something goes wrong on your mission, response or rescue effort. We cover self-rescue and partner-rescue during this program. Mechanical advantage, knot passing, hauling, ascending and many more skills are instructed!
This NFPA compliant course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform basic rope rescue operations. This course covers the general requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1006, Standard For Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications.
