When operating or responding in cold weather or arctic environments various factors are used to operate at full efficiency. It starts with physical fitness, footwear and clothing systems. From there, a unit can build upon their terrain specific negotiating skills. This would be a permanent snow-covered, non-permanent snow-covered, tundra, and/or glaciated. We've worked with several special operations, special forces and various other units operating in these environments. Knowing how to survive and negotiate terrain in cold weather environments is key to responding and operating in them.

Winter survival differs from basic wilderness survival due to the nature of the environment. Cold temperatures and lack of various environmental resources during winter conditions is an issue where knowledge and experience come into view. During our winter survival courses we'll teach you how to survive and sustain in this environment.
When operating or performing aerial insertion, extraction or hauling procedures in a winter environment being familiar with environmental changes, impacts and sustainability are all factors that make a great winter operations successful.
